Privacy and data retention
Last updated: July 28, 2026
What we retain
Submitted photos, verification results, model responses used for debugging, serial numbers read from photos, pass purchase email, session history, and limited usage analytics.
Why we retain it
Photos and results are retained to provide session history, restore paid access, investigate incorrect findings, and improve the verification rubric. They are not sold or used for advertising.
Payments
Card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by VerifyAirPods. We retain Stripe transaction identifiers and the purchase email needed to verify access.
Storage and access
Production records are stored in PostgreSQL and private object storage. User photos are served only after session, pass, or administrator authorization.
Retention
Verification data is retained for review and debugging until deletion is requested or a future retention policy is announced. Backups may retain deleted records for a limited backup lifecycle.
Your choices
You may request a copy or deletion of your stored data. A request must include enough information to verify ownership, such as the purchase email and a previously tested serial number.
